Award ceremony and opening of the exhibition of the 3rd International Biennial “Remember the gardens. You came from there…”

Awards of the 3rd International Biennial “Remember the gardens. After all, you came from there…” were received by the winners from fine arts schools in Dąbrowa Górnicza, Gronowo Górne, Płock, Poznań, Wrocław and Zabrze.

Author’s watercolors from Malta were donated by the Chairman of the Jury, prof. dr hab. Jan Maria Rylke, who also mentioned studying together with Jonasz Kofta at the Warsaw School of Fine Arts. His Magnificence the Rector of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, prof. dr hab. Michał Jerzy Zasada was represented by the Vice-Dean for Didactics of the Faculty of Horticulture, dr hab. Tomasz Krupa.

In the address read by the Chairwoman of the Department of Culture and Support of Social Initiatives, Małgorzata Ogrodnik, the Chairman of the Płock City Council, Artur Jaroszewski, on behalf of himself and the Płock City Council, emphasized that “the biennial was born in Płock and has already gained reputation and prestige. Thanks to this initiative by Małgorzata and Marek Mroczkowski, founders of “Plastyk” in Płock, future young artists have the opportunity to present their talent, individuality and their view of nature and the world.

Among the guests: the Director of the Karol Szymanowski State Primary and Secondary Music School Michał Zawadzki, President of the Polish Numismatic Society in Płock and Treasurer of the Płock Scientific Society Jerzy Milner, Deputy Director of the Władysław Broniewski Płock Library Elżbieta Dobroń, Head of the Darmstadt House and the Animation Department of the Themersons Płock Center for Culture and Art Artur Kras, Head of the Culture Department of the Płock City Hall Inga Kujawa-Zawadzka. Present artistic guardians and parents of the winners, students, Management Board and Pedagogical Council of the Władysław Drapiewski 1st Private High School of Fine Arts in Płock.

The event was honored by a performance by students of the Karol Szymanowski First and Secondary State Music School in Płock Dominika Roszkowska (vocals) and Michał Kasprzycki (keyboard), who performed the famous standards “Black Coffee” (1948, music by Sonny Burke, lyrics by Paul Francis Webster), “Twisted” (1952, music by Wardell Gray, lyrics by Annie Ross), “Fragile” (1987, music/lyrics by Sting), “One Note Samba” (1960, music by Antonio Carlos Jobim, lyrics by Jon Hendricks).

Special thanks to the Director of the Płock Art Gallery, Alicja Wasilewska, and the employees of the Exhibition and Education Department – Laura Dyczko, Mariusz Młynarkiewicz, Bartosz Śliwiński, Karolina Boruszewska, Karol Cybulski, for the professional exhibition of 176 works qualified for the exhibition by the Jury of the 3rd International Biennial “Remember the Gardens. You came from there…”.
